Stockton, CA – The San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SJCHCC) recently announced the appointment of Brenna Butler Garcia as the new chief executive officer of the non-profit organization.
“We are very excited to have Brenna aboard,” said James Jimenez, Board President of the SJCHCC. “She brings extensive experience and talents to our organization and will work closely with our members and partners in the community to cross-promote events and educational opportunities with other area organizations and continue our mission of creating a stronger and sustainable local economy through advocacy on behalf of small & minority owned business within our sphere of influence.”
Ms. Butler Garcia’s background in marketing and professional non-profit development includes experience with both business-oriented and human services organizations. She comes to SJCHCC from Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock where she coordinated major events for charitable giving and developed marketing collateral for the hospital’s office of development.
“It’s important that we take assessment of what our members need to be successful in the Central Valley and provide them with the services and resources that can help them achieve success quickly and efficiently,” said Butler Garcia. Her plans include outreach expansion into outlying areas and through online and telecommute opportunities. “Creating a solid foundation of education and streamlined business-friendly resources will ensure an environment where the community can thrive, and the chamber is committed to carrying out this mission.”
Originally from Salem, Oregon, Ms. Butler Garcia has resided in California since 2000. Her valley-based professional roots also include membership development for the Turlock Chamber of Commerce, account management and marketing for building trades subcontractor, Tidwell Enterprises and fund development efforts for the Society for Handicapped Children & Adults in Modesto.
The San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce represents the interest of 250 members, many of whom are small business owners. Established in 1972, the Chamber provides assistance in opening businesses, accessing capital, and links members-to-members through its many events held throughout the year.
